{"id":2263,"date":"2011-07-25T08:00:05","date_gmt":"2011-07-25T15:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kevinlubera.com\/blog\/?p=2263"},"modified":"2016-07-02T02:09:55","modified_gmt":"2016-07-02T12:09:55","slug":"kaena-point-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kevinlubera.com\/blog\/2011\/personal\/kaena-point-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting to the Point &#8230; and Back &#8212; Kaena Point Photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This past weekend, Loretta and I went out for a hike to <a title=\"Ka'ena Point\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kaena_Point\" target=\"_blank\">Ka&#8217;ena Point<\/a>. We originally planned for a morning hike, but we decided to go in the mid-afternoon instead; it takes a while to drive out there from town, and we just didn&#8217;t want to leave so early in the morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There are two ways to hike to Ka&#8217;ena Point &#8212; from the west side of the island, or from the north side. We chose the west side, since Loretta had already done the north portion on a previous hike. The hike was quite easy, but it was also quite hot on the way to Ka&#8217;ena Point. At the end, we were greeted by a rainbow and what looked to be an imminent downpour. Fortunately, we just got a small sprinkle, which helped to cool us off for a bit. The temperature on the way back was nice as the sun was setting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The first two shots were taken by Loretta while I took a break in the shade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The last shot really shows the colors of Hawaii&#8217;s sunsets. Loretta can attest that the colors are quite accurate, as we compared the back of my camera with what we saw with our eyes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It&#8217;s days like these that make me wonder why I don&#8217;t go out more often.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What did <em>you<\/em> do this weekend?
