Most of you know that Loretta and I have been planning our wedding. It’s quite a change being on the other side, I must say. And it’s a great way to really see if you’re off to a good start towards a successful marriage.
My sister recently gave me a book, and I just started to read it last night. In the introduction of Things I Wish I’d Known Before We Got Married, author Gary Chapman says “This is not a book on how to plan a wedding. This is a book on how to have a successful marriage.”
All of a sudden, as urgent as wedding planning has become to me, I’ve shifted my focus back on planning for marriage.
I can’t give a review at this time, since I’ve just barely touched Chapter 1, but it does seem like a valuable resource.
Whether you’re single, engaged, or already married, consider checking this book out. Gary Chapman is also the author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller The 5 Love Languages.
Has anyone read this yet? If so, what did you think?
5 love languages… J & I read before we took the plunge … and we are at lucky 7 so far … 🙂
That’s awesome, Daph! 🙂
