Many of you know that I’ve just recently moved to Hawaii. I was very excited to be back home and to see what kind of work would come my way. To my surprise, my first wedding was none other than my sister’s!
It was quite a spur-of-the-moment event, as the timeframe from concept to reality was under 3 weeks. Within a week of announcement, I found myself on a plane to Maui to shoot their engagement session, and then I returned again to shoot their wedding.
Liann and Rene opted for a more intimate Maui wedding, with just immediate family and their closest friends as guests. As it turns out, this was also the first time that my family got to meet Loretta. In fact, she was left to introduce herself to my family at the reception as I was still working with the newlyweds on location. I’m glad she survived without me. LOL
As time was limited, so were locations. Fortunately, my sister managed to single-handedly design, plan and execute just about everything. There’s no doubt she’s more creative than I am. 🙂
Needless to say, this intimate event was very successful. It was also great to see my family and some old friends, albeit for just a short time.
I wish my dear sister and her new husband Rene a very blessed marriage and many happy years ahead of them together. From what I’ve witnessed so far, they’re doing quite well!
And guess who got the garter? lol
